The Gifted Education Program at Aquinas Catholic College focuses on a student centred approach to education and learning. In Years 7, 8, 9 and 10 gifted students are identified through a variety of assessment tools and then invited to take up a position in our Challenge class.
All students have the opportunity to excel academically through the College’s differentiated curriculum and assessment program where students learn at their own pace. Extension English classes challenge students in Year 10 and many students participate in our Accelerated Mathematics Program.
The following strategies are implemented to extend and challenge students:
The Resource Centre also provides an environment where extension and enrichment programs can be studied.
Other opportunities include:
Southern Region Writing Workshops, Philosophy Cluster Days, Engineering Challenges, University of Wollongong Science Fair.
Students and parents can connect with our school Learning Management System run by SEQTA Software. Students and Parents can use the links below to access the portal that is relevant to your needs. Students access SEQTA Learn and Parents/Carers access SEQTA Engage
