Students driving to and from school are not encouraged, but it is permitted along the guidelines set about below:
If a student wants to drive to and from school:
The student must obtain a form from the Year 12 Co-ordinator requesting to drive. This form indicates parental/guardian permission, make of vehicle, registration number and licence number. When completed, the form must be signed by the Principal.
The student returns the form to the Year 12 Co-ordinator and a copy is made to keep it on file. The student must produce the letter upon request in connection to any matter regarding driving.
If a student wants to be a passenger in a motor vehicle driven to and from school by another student:
The student (including relatives of the driver) must follow the same procedure as above. They will be issued a “Passenger Permit” letter, which they must carry with them, and produce upon request in connection with any matter regarding driving/being a passenger.
A teacher who observes students not conforming to the above regulations or who witnesses recklessness on the part of either drivers or passengers should report the matter to the Year Co-ordinator
In 2018 Aquinas Catholic College is undertaking a new student information system called Compass. It is a cloud-based program that will be implemented in all Sydney Catholic Schools, over the next 3 years. At the beginning of this year we will be opening the Student and Parent Portals and you will have access to parts of Compass. Throughout 2018 you will be sent instructional guides and information about Compass via the College newsletter.
